The Real Cost of Delivery Problems
Delivery problems are more than just operational headaches. For retailers and logistics companies, they are a growing financial drain – quietly chipping away at profits, customer loyalty and team efficiency.
Last week was an inspiring and fulfilling one, centred on creating new opportunities, strengthening relationships, and focusing on the future of fulfilment within retail. Events like this remind me of the value of stepping outside of the day-to-day and investing time in people, ideas, and collaboration.
Every conversation reaffirmed the importance of fulfilment—not just in a logistical sense, but in how we can deliver meaningful outcomes for retailers and their customers. Listening to different perspectives and understanding the challenges retailers face helped me reflect on how we can continue to add value and support growth across the sector.
One of the highlights of the week was spending a day with Amy from Selfridges. Amy was incredibly generous with her time and introduced me to many people within her network. Those introductions opened doors to new conversations, each one sparking ideas about collaboration and future opportunities. I am extremely grateful to her for the support and the genuine effort she made to connect me with others.
The event provided the perfect platform to meet retailers I hadn’t previously engaged with, while also deepening existing connections. Each new relationship is a step toward long-term partnerships rooted in trust, shared values, and mutual ambition. It’s these relationships that will shape the next phase of innovation and progress in fulfilment.
Reflecting on last week, I feel both energised and grateful. Energised by the potential collaborations ahead, and grateful for the generosity, openness, and support of those I met—particularly Amy, whose introductions played such an important role in shaping my experience.
As we move forward, I’m excited to build on these foundations, continue strengthening partnerships, and contribute to a future where fulfilment and retail work hand in hand to deliver meaningful impact.
